THE Scottish Amateur Football Association is celebrating its Centenary Season this year and SAFA Webmaster, Euan Cameron, is currently putting together a detailed document to help celebrate the occasion. Listed below are the projects currently being worked on, and anyone who can assist can contact Mr Cameron on 0141-533 1203.
NATIONAL Amateur Football Archive: Euan is collecting photos/stories from over 100 years of amateur football in Scotland. These may be about individuals (for a Hall of Fame), teams, matches or any historically interesting event related to amateur football. As an example, Euan has a story of an amateur football team who all signed up for the army in World War One, and only one player survived but went on to reform the club which is still in existence today.
The idea is that all this information will be collated in a searchable online library.
AMATEUR Football Photo Exhibition: The idea is to create a top 100 photos which will be printed and hopefully displayed in a touring exhibition throughout Scotland. Feel free to submit your photos by CDROM for submission to The SAFA, Hampden Park, Glasgow, G42 9DB.
All credits and copyrights will remain with the senders.
